A Typical Day in the Pre-School Room
Our preschool day balances structured learning, creative exploration, outdoor time, and rest — giving children a rhythm that feels safe, engaging, and full of wonder.
Arrival & Morning Discovery Centers
7:00 AM – 9:00 AMChildren settle in with self-chosen activities at discovery centers — puzzles, books, drawing, and building — as classmates arrive and the day begins.
Circle Time & Morning Meeting
9:00 AM – 9:45 AMGroup gathering for calendar, weather, sharing, songs, and the day's theme introduction. A warm, language-rich start that builds community and routine.
Literacy & Math Activities
9:45 AM – 10:45 AMSmall-group and individual activities focusing on letter sounds, number concepts, and early writing — playful, hands-on, and developmentally paced.
STEAM & Creative Arts
10:45 AM – 11:30 AMTheme-based art projects, science exploration, and engineering challenges that develop problem-solving skills and ignite imagination.
Outdoor Play & Physical Activity
11:30 AM – 12:15 PMActive outdoor time on our safe playground for running, climbing, and cooperative games that build gross motor skills and social connection.
Lunch & Life Skills
12:15 PM – 1:00 PMFamily-style lunch encourages independence, conversation, and good nutrition habits. Hand-washing, tidying up, and self-help skills are woven in naturally.
Rest Time & Quiet Activities
1:00 PM – 2:30 PMChildren rest on individual cots with soft music. Non-sleepers enjoy quiet reading or drawing so everyone recharges for the afternoon ahead.
Afternoon Enrichment & Pickup
2:30 PM – 6:00 PMAfternoon snack, free play, and enrichment activities. Teachers share the day's highlights and learning moments with parents at pickup.
